Fines have been seen to go as high as £20,000 and offences heard in the Crown Court have carried sentences of more than 2 years imprisonment in additional to unlimited financial penalties. So even though PAT testing itself is not legally required, it simply helps you to protect yourself by ensuring that you are complying with these regulations.

Many Companies say on their website’s that they will PAT Test for 50p, 75p or £1.00 per test, this is only possible when these companies place labels on everything as fast as possible without actually unplugging or testing anything.
Always be concerned if a company can test more than 30 items an hour (as they won`t be testing anything and you are just paying for labels)
We have a minimum charge of £60.00 (within a 10 mile radius of our Garstang offices) which includes testing for 15 items, thereafter its £1.50 per item tested, price includes free fuse and plug replacement if required, there is no extra charge for out of hours or weekend testing.
